Red Team Consulting Welcomes Jean Watterson as General Manager of Proposal Consulting
ASHBURN, Va., August 19, 2024 – Red Team Consulting (Red Team) is pleased to announce the addition of Jean Watterson as General Manager of Proposal Consulting, effective August 19. Ms. Watterson brings over 25 years of experience in leadership roles, including 17 years in proposal development for federal, state, and local government solicitations.
As the General Manager of Proposal Consulting, Ms. Watterson leverages her deep expertise in managing multi-billion-dollar proposals and building high-performing teams to match clients with the best-fit proposal talent. She is committed to forming and maintaining strong relationships with clients and consultants, recognizing that these connections are essential to shared success.
Ms. Watterson got her start in proposals by being drafted to support one. She claims to have come full circle in her career. Before she decided to join the Marine Corps, she planned to go to college out of high school to study journalism.
“Doing proposal writing is like being a reporter,” said Ms. Watterson. “You often times have to interview people (SMEs) to get information to create a story/proposal section(s).”
In her new role at Red Team, Ms. Watterson is most looking forward to the interaction with clients, consultants, and the proposal industry.
“My last two roles at companies were inward focused with little to no client or industry interaction. I love building relationships, meeting new people, and playing a role in shaping our industry,” said Ms. Watterson.
Ms. Watterson is a proud Veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps. Outside of her professional accomplishments, Ms. Watterson enjoys all types of travel, wine tasting, and spending time with friends and family.
When asked if she could meet anyone, dead or alive, her answer was: Mother Teresa.

Through her work with the Missionaries of Charity, she demonstrated immense compassion, humility, and dedication to helping those in need, often in the most challenging circumstances,” said Ms. Watterson. “Meeting her would be an opportunity to learn from her profound sense of empathy and her ability to find strength in faith and service. Her life exemplifies the power of selflessness, and the impact one person can have in making the world a better place.
