Red Team and Deltek Team Up to Host Webinar on Proposal Management Best Practices

ASHBURN, Va., June 27, 2024 – Jeff Leitner, Vice President of Proposals at Red Team Consulting (Red Team), led a one-hour webinar on June 26 joined by more than 1,000 attendees. The webinar, co-hosted with Deltek, focused on proposal management best practices to help companies secure government contracts.

Kathleen Sievers, Director of Federal Information Solutions at Deltek, kicked off the event with a warm welcome, setting the stage for a session filled with valuable insights. Mr. Leitner shared key strategies to enhance the proposal management process, emphasizing the importance of understanding that proposals are scored, not read.

Mr. Leitner stressed the importance of building a proposal outline, and imparted this guidance to webinar attendees:

  • Follow the proposal instructions directly (Section L) to make it easy for the evaluators to find what they’re looking for.
  • Include the evaluation criteria information (Section M) in the outline.
  • Cover requirements (Section C) as directed by the proposal instructions.

He also discussed why a lessons learned session is critical after the proposal process. The lessons learned meeting enables teams to identify issues that reflect a systemic process weakness, as well as personal performance issues to be addressed.
