Jeff Shen, President of Red Team, Speaks at GMU Honors College Graduation Reception

FAIRFAX, Va., May 8, 2024 – On May 8, Jeff Shen, President of Red Team Consulting, took center stage as the distinguished speaker at the George Mason University (GMU) Honors College graduation reception. The reception for the 390 graduating Honors College students took place at the Hub Ballroom.

A proud GMU alumnus, Mr. Shen spoke about personal and professional growth, resilience in the face of setbacks, and the value of helping others achieve their potential. By sharing personal examples, Mr. Shen emphasized the significance of being open to new opportunities, embracing discomfort for growth, building meaningful relationships, and staying flexible in a rapidly changing world. Overall, Mr. Shen’s speech served as a motivating and inspiring message for the graduates to pursue their aspirations with determination and adaptability.

Since January 2023, Mr. Shen has served as a dedicated member of the GMU Honors College Advisory Board, contributing his expertise to guide the college’s strategic direction. In February, Mr. Shen facilitated meaningful dialogue as part of the GovCon Alumni GMU Honors College Roundtable, connecting students with industry insights and opportunities. Through collaborative efforts with the Honors College team, Mr. Shen helped organize the GMU Spring College Exhibition, engaging with students on a range of research proposals, including topics on civic engagement and experiential learning.

Reflecting on his time on the GMU Honors College Advisory Board, Mr. Shen expressed pride in witnessing the growth of future leaders. His involvement in these projects has contributed to laying the groundwork for students’ future career paths.
