Tips for Gov Con Small Businesses
In honor of Small Business Week, we wanted to offer some valuable tips to government contracting small businesses. We talked to Red Team’s Vice President and General Manager, Jeff Shen, and here’s what he had to say:
- Start preparing yourself for what could be a busier than usual Summer season of proposal activity. This means making your staff aware of the occasional proposal and lining up consulting firms (like Red Team).
- It is never too early to start planning for FY18 strategic planning. Get your team excited for an offsite planned in the Fall for your next year’s strategic planning. The key to building a successful culture is to foster an “all in” environment where your key staff have a say in the future development of the company.
- Start joining or building your teams now – talk to Red Team about the upcoming large IDIQs that we’re tracking. We’ll make you aware of some of the biggest in DoD and Civilian so you can start your teaming discussions now.
- Brush up on the updated regulations surrounding mentor-protégé relationships, joint ventures, and affiliation. There are new rules in place that will help you as you compete on federal contracts. Contact Red Team for information on these updated regulations.
